Aston Villa will entertain Newcastle United at Villa Park this Tuesday night as they try to collect maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Villans managed to earn a scoreless draw away at Chelsea recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways versus the Magpies in midweek.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-4-1-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first team for this game. Diego Carlos and Leon Bailey could both get a chance to play from the start of this match.
4-4-1-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Newcastle United
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in between the sticks for the Midlands club after earning a clean sheet in his last appearance. Diego Carlos will play alongside Clement Lenglet at the centre of the Aston Villa backline as they focus on keeping things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Ezri Konsa will fill in as the right-back while Alex Moreno hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Calum Chambers will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara will anchor the midfield for Aston Villa as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. John McGinn will hope to give a good account of himself as the left-sided winger while Leon Bailey focuses on putting his pace to good use on the right flank.
Youri Tielemans could play in the number ten position and would have to carry most of the creative workload for the Villans up top.
Nicolo Zaniolo and Moussa Diaby will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the line for the Villans on the offensive end of the field. He would have to find a way to be a constant menace inside the opponent’s penalty box this Tuesday night.
However, Jhon Duran will be sidelined for this game due to injury.
