Burn Gets 9, Longstaff With 8 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Solid Win Vs Fulham

Newcastle United locked horns with Fulham at Craven Cottage earlier this evening as they looked to secure a victory on the road in the FA Cup. The Magpies made a strong start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 39th minute thanks to Sean Longstaff’s effort. The Tyneside club went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Dan Burn put daylight between the two sides in the 61st minute when he got his name on the scoresheet. The contest ended with Eddie Howe’s men earning a solid 2-0 win away from home.

He made a couple of solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet in the FA Cup this evening.

Trippier cleared the danger when needed and made two good chances in the final third.

He made a lot of crucial clearances at the back and was a threat at the other end of the field as well.

CB: Sven Botman – 7.5/10

Botman gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was tidy with his passing.

LB: Dan Burn – 9/10

Burn didn’t put a foot wrong when defending inside his half and managed to find the back of the net in the 61st minute.

CM: Lewis Miley – 7/10

He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7/10

Guimaraes anchored the midfield well and had a couple of bright moments in the opponent’s half. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.

CM: Sean Longstaff – 8/10

He was a positive influence in both halves and deserves credit for scoring the opener in the 39th minute.

RW: Jacob Murphy – 6.5/10

He showed a few glimpses of what he could do but failed to register a goal.

ST: Alexander Isak – 7/10

Isak made two decent runs with the ball in the final third.

LW: Anthony Gordon –  6.5/10

He caused some headaches for the Fulham defenders but there was no goal for him this evening.
