Manchester City will welcome Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to secure a positive result at home in the FA Cup. The Mancunian outfit managed to earn a solid 2-0 win over Sheffield United recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Pep Guardiola will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong starting XI for this cup clash. Oscar Bobb, Rico Lewis and Sergio Gomez will all play from the start of this game this weekend.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Huddersfield Town
Defence
Stefan Ortega will play in between the sticks for Man City as he looks to impress in the FA Cup. Nathan Ake will resume his defensive partnership with Manuel Akanji at the centre of Ancelotti’s defence. Both of them would be eager to stop the opposition from scoring this weekend.
Sergio Gomez could get an opportunity to catch the eye as the left-back while Kyle Walker fills in on the other flank as the right-back. Guardiola will allow both of them to get forward and cause problems for the Huddersfield full-backs during the 90 minutes.
Ruben Dias will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Rico Lewis and Kalvin Phillips will anchor the midfield for Man City as they try to dominate the game in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Oscar Bobb, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva will play just ahead of them as part of Guardiola’s attack. All three of them need to be at their best if they want to create enough chances for Man City to win this game.
Jack Grealish will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Julian Alvarez will spearhead Guardiola’s attack in the final third. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet this weekend.
Kevin De Bruyne and Micah Hamilton will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if Man City are in of a goal by then.
