In a recent report, AS mentioned that Barcelona are keeping tabs on Djurgarden youngster Lucas Bergvall. It has been stated that the Catalan club has identified the Swedish talent as a target but would face competition from Eintracht Frankfurt in pursuit of him.
Bergvall’s Impressive Rise In Swedish Football
Bergvall has done well to establish himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in Swedish football. The 17-year-old has already made 29 senior appearances for his current employers so far, scoring two goals and grabbing one assist in the process on all fronts.
The Swedish starlet has caught the eye with his performances for Djurgarden’s senior team. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove himself at the highest level.
His current deal at the Swedish club will run out at the end of 2025. Hence, it makes sense for Barcelona to try and arrange a cut-price move for him this year.
Barcelona Are Keeping Tabs On Bergvall: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Bergvall usually works hard for his team defensively and can create the odd chance for his teammates going forward. He is a technically gifted footballer who can score some important goals for his team from midfield. Bergvall can even make a few energetic runs with the ball in the opponent’s half when he is playing well on the pitch.
However, as mentioned earlier, the Swedish teenager is still quite inexperienced at the senior level and would need time to settle into life at the Nou Camp if Barcelona can get a deal done for him in the future. Xavi could be the perfect man to oversee Bergvall’s development and unlock the best out of him at the Catalan club in the coming years.
At 17, the Swedish midfield ace has the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday. There is no denying that he is a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Barca would do well to get him on board this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Xavi has to be patient with his progress as the youngster would need time to settle into life at the Catalan club.
