In a recent report, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Aston Villa are showing interest in Chelsea forward Armando Broja. It has been stated that the Villans could face competition in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United in the race to land the Albanian striker.
Broja’s Recent Form At Stamford Bridge
Broja has struggled to be consistent with his performances as the focal point of Mauricio Pochettino’s attack this season. However, he has done well to score two goals and pick up two assists in 19 matches for the Blues during this campaign in multiple competitions.
The Albanian sensation has caught the eye at times by averaging 1.0 shots and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 89.2% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for the Villans to snap him up before the end of this January transfer window.
What Will Broja Bring To Aston Villa?
Broja can create some space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He can be a decent finisher in the final third when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. The Albanian sensation can even create the odd chance for his teammates up top and is usually clever with his movements in and around the opposition penalty area. At the moment, Broja is getting a regular run of games but his situation might change if he fails to be consistent in front of the opponent’s goal.
Thus, Aston Villa could be an ideal destination for him as he will have a better chance of earning regular game time in the coming seasons. At 22, Broja has still got a bright future ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Villans to pursue this month.
The Albanian would bring more pace and goals to Unai Emery’s attack. He might even help Aston Villa push for a European spot in the Premier League this season. With all things considered, Emery would be wise to get Broja on board this winter.
