In a recent report, Tuttomercatoweb claimed that Arsenal have set their sights on Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic. It has been revealed that the Gunners are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Serbian talent but the Turin outfit are unwilling to let him go this month.
Vlahovic’s Impressive Run Of Form In Italian Football
Vlahovic has been a decent performer at the Turin club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The 23-year-old has banged in seven goals and grabbed a couple of assists in 19 appearances for Juve this season across all fronts.
The Serbian sensation has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 3.1 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in Serie A. However, he lacks quality when distributing the ball in the final third based on his pass success rate of 74% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Turin club will run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, Arsenal have got no choice but to meet Juve’s demands if they want to recruit him before the end of this January transfer window.
Is Vlahovic A Good Option For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?
Vlahovic can create some space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He can be a good finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing well on the pitch. The Serbian talent can even create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third. However, he has to figure out a way to improve his link-up play up top. Standing at 1.90m, he can even use his strong frame to win his fair share of aerial duels for his team.
We can expect Vlahovic to add more firepower to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s attack. He is good enough to compete with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah for a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium. At 23, the Serbian centre-forward will only get better with each year.
Plus, Vlahovic could help the Gunners challenge across all competitions in the coming seasons. Thus, he would be a great option for the North London club to pursue in this winter transfer window.
