Leeds United will entertain Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a good result at home in the FA Cup. The Whites managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Norwich City recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Daniel Farke will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a lot of changes to his starting XI this weekend. Jamie Shackleton, Liam Cooper and Ian Poveda will probably get the nod to play from the start of this FA Cup contest.
4-2-3-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup To Face Plymouth Argyle
Defence
Kristoffer Klaesson will operate in between the sticks for the Yorkshire club as he looks to secure a clean sheet at home. Joe Rodon will resume his defensive partnership with Liam Cooper at the centre of Farke’s backline as they look to restrict the opposition from scoring this weekend.
Jamie Shackleton will fill in as the right-back while Sam Byram hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Ethan Ampadu will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev will anchor the midfield for Leeds as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Jaidon Anthony, Georginio Rutter and Ian Poveda will function just ahead of them as part of Farke’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to create enough chances for the Whites to win this clash.
Daniel James will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
Attack
Joel Piroe will lead the charge for the Yorkshire giants in the attacking end of the field. He would be hungry to get his name on the scoresheet this weekend.
Patrick Bamford will be named on the bench and might come on in the final quarter of the game if Leeds are in need of a goal by then.
