Barcelona will entertain Girona at the Nou Camp on Sunday night as they look to secure a positive result at home in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Xavi will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could keep changes to a minimum for this clash. Hence, we can once again expect to see Robert Lewandowski lead the charge for Barca in the final third.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Girona
Defence
Inaki Pena will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan club after he kept a clean sheet in his last league outing. Ronald Araujo will resume his defensive partnership with Andreas Christensen at the centre of Xavi’s backline as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.
Joao Cancelo will fill in as the left-back while Jules Kounde hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the right-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Inigo Martinez will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Pedri, Ilkay Gundogan and Frenkie de Jong will make up Barcelona’s midfield as they focus on dominating the ball at the centre of the park and orchestrating some inviting chances in the final third. All three of them need to be at their best if Barca want to collect all three points from this home game.
Oriol Romeu will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Joao Felix will function as the left-sided wide player while Raphinha looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Robert Lewandowski will spearhead Barca’s attack up top. He failed to register a goal in his last outing and would be eager to make a difference for Barcelona on the offensive end of the field.
Ferran Torres will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
