Barcelona will entertain Atletico Madrid at the Nou Camp this Monday night as they look to secure a positive result at home in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to secure a narrow 2-1 win over Porto recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Xavi will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could name a strong first XI for this game. The Barcelona head coach might opt to keep changes to a minimum for this contest against Diego Simeone’s men.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Atletico Madrid
Defence
Inaki Pena will operate in between the sticks for the Catalan club after he conceded one goal in his last league outing. Inigo Martinez will resume his defensive partnership with Jules Kounde at the heart of Barca’s defence as they try to keep the opposition frustrated during the 90 minutes.
Ronald Araujo will fill in as the right-back while Joao Cancelo looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get a chance to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Alejandro Balde will offer cover for the left-back position on the bench.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong, Ilkay Gundogan and Pedri will make up Barca’s midfield as they look to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball if they are to secure enough chances to win this contest.
Oriol Romeu will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Joao Felix will get the nod to operate as the left-sided wide player while Raphinha looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank. Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Catalan club up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net this weekend.
Ferran Torres will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
