Aston Villa welcomed Burnley at Villa Park earlier today as they looked to secure maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 28th minute via Leon Bailey’s goal. However, Zeki Amdouni equalised for the visitors just two minutes later before Moussa Diaby restored Aston Villa’s lead in the 42nd minute. Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.
Sander Berge was sent off in the 56th minute but the 10-men of Burnley managed to equalise in the 71st minute courtesy of Lyle Foster’s finish. Douglas Luiz ended up winning the game for the Villans from the penalty spot in the 89th minute. The contest ended with Aston Villa earning a hard-fought 3-2 win at Villa Park.

Diaby was not shy of having a strike at goal and did well to score just before the half-time break.
