“Scammed everyone during the World Cup” – Manchester United fans react following reports suggesting midfielder might leave club

Sofyan Amrabat, 27, joined Manchester United on loan from Fiorentina following a successful World Cup with Morocco. However, in the 17 times he played for the squad in various competitions, he did not significantly improve the team. People at the club are concerned that he will not be able to compete in the Premier League. Erik ten Hag has stated that he does not intend to keep him on the squad indefinitely.

Erik ten Hag doesn’t want Sofyan Amrabat at Manchester United

Sofyan Amrabat came to Manchester United in the summer on loan from Fiorentina in Italy, and there’s talk of a permanent move for £29.9 million. The Moroccan midfielder joined on the last day of the transfer window, and Manchester United spent a lot of the summer trying to get him. Since he started playing for the Red Devils, it hasn’t been very convincing. He played in 17 games in different competitions and had to compete with players like Scott McTominay, Kobbie Mainoo, and Casemiro to get a starting position in the team.

But according to Sky Sports, Ten Hag doesn’t want to keep Amrabat on the team after this season. The club won’t use the option to buy in the summer. Amrabat will go away from Manchester United for a while in January when he plays for Morocco in the African Cup of Nations. The tournament is from January 13 to February 11.

“Amrabat is very unlikely to stay at Manchester United after the summer. They have an option to make the deal a permanent one, but as things stand the manager is not making plans to do that. There’s no doubt that Amrabat is a good player, but there are question marks against whether he is the right fit for the Premier League,” an insider said.

“He did very well in Italy but the pace of the game is very different and this is an area where he has struggled since arriving at United. There may well be interest from other clubs in Europe but as things stand he won’t be staying at United,” he added.

So, the midfielder might have a tough time getting back into Ten Hag’s team when he comes back. He might leave Old Trafford when his loan period is over.
