In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are showing interest in Argentinos Jrs. midfielder Federico Redondo. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Argentine midfield ace next year.
Redondo’s Impressive Rise In Argentine Football
Redondo has enjoyed an excellent campaign at the Argentine club after he produced a run of impressive displays at the heart of their midfield over the past 12 months. The South American sensation has found the back of the net twice and earned two assists in 45 appearances for his current club this season on all fronts.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye with his contributions at the centre of the park based on his average of 1.5 tackles, 0.5 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 0.7 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in Liga Profesional. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from midfield after making 87.3% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Argentinos Jrs. will run out at the end of next year which could open the door for Real Madrid to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.
Is Redondo A Good Option For Real Madrid?
Redondo is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger quickly to earn the ball back for his side at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can create some inviting chances in the final third. The Argentine talent can also make a few clever runs with the ball from midfield. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to adapt to life in Spain if Real Madrid manage to get him on board in 2024.
We can expect Redondo to add more quality to Los Blancos‘ midfield in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Plus, Redondo would bring more competition for Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga at the Madrid club.
