Gila’s Lack Of Playing Time In Italian Football This Season
Gila has found game time hard to come by at the Italian club this season but has managed to put in a few solid displays for them on the defensive third of the pitch. The Spanish defensive ace has participated in eight matches for Lazio during this campaign across all competitions.
The 23-year-old has been a solid presence when defending inside his half as he is averaging 1.4 tackles, 0.6 key passes and 3.8 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has also been excellent when distributing possession from the back based on his pass success rate of 89.2% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
Gila is under contract at Lazio until the summer of 2027. Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to try and arrange a loan move for him this January.
Is Gila A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Gila is a tough-tackling central defender who can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to clear the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and excels at playing his way out from the back.
The Spanish sensation needs to earn regular game time if he wants to improve as a footballer in the coming seasons. Hence, Real Madrid could lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on loan if Carlo Ancelotti is willing to use him often in the second half of this campaign.
At 23, Gila has got a promising future ahead of him and would even serve as a decent option for Real Madrid to pursue next year. He already knows the Madrid club well from his previous spell with them and won’t take much time to settle into life in Spain if Ancelotti can devise a way to sign him on loan this January.
