Arsenal faced off against Liverpool at Anfield earlier this evening as they hoped to grind out a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners made a bright start to the game and scored the opening goal thanks to Gabriel’s header in the fourth minute. However, Mohamed Salah equalised for Liverpool in the 29th minute as the two teams went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.
Mikel Arteta’s men kept themselves in the contest in the second 45 minutes and managed to secure a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Merseyside.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player performed during the clash against the Reds.
GK: David Raya – 7/10
Raya made two good saves at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition to just one goal.
RB: Ben White – 6.5/10
He showed some fight when defending inside his half and made two good chances going forward.
CB: William Saliba – 6.5/10
Saliba did his fair share of defending and did enough to limit the home team to just one goal.
CB: Gabriel – 7/10
The Brazilian centre-back gave Arsenal the lead with a solid header in the fourth minute and managed to clear the danger when he could throughout the remainder of the contest.
LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko – 6.5/10
He was too passive in the lead-up to Salah’s equaliser. Otherwise, Zinchenko produced a solid performance at left-back.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 7.5/10
Odegaard worked hard defensively and managed to engineer some promising chances in the final third.
CM: Declan Rice – 7/10
The England international anchored the midfield with conviction but offered very little in the final third.
CM: Kai Havertz – 6/10
He struggled to get a foothold in the game but was tidy with his passing.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 7/10
Saka caused a lot of headaches for the Liverpool defenders but failed to register a goal.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – 6.5/10
He worked hard and was not shy of having a strike at goal.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6.510
Martinelli showed a few glimpses of what he can do but never looked like he would score.
Substitutes:
LW: Leandro Trossard – 6/10
He struggled to make an impact.
ST: Eddie Nketiah – 6/10
Nketiah failed to make a difference.
