Everton welcomed Newcastle United at Goodison Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Toffees were solid in the first half and were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Dwight McNeil managed to break the deadlock in the 79th minute before Abdoulaye Doucoure made the points secure just seven minutes later when he got his name on the scoresheet. Beto added another goal in injury time as the contest ended with Sean Dyche’s men securing an impressive 3-0 win in front of their home fans.

The English keeper made a few crucial saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet at home.

Mykolenko was solid when defending inside his half and made a decent run with the ball.
RM: Ashley Young – 7.5/10
Young was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 7.5/10
He got stuck in with a few crunching tackles and made a couple of inviting chances for others around him. He doubled Everton’s lead in the 87th minute.
CM: Idrissa Gueye – 7/10
Gueye anchored the midfield well and made one good chance in the opponent’s half.
LM: Dwight McNeil – 8.5/10
The English talent made some meaningful chances for his teammates and has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.

He caused all sorts of problems for his marker and did everything but score tonight.

Calvert-Lewin was a real handful for the opposition defenders but failed to register a goal.
