Aston Villa will entertain Sheffield United at Villa Park this Friday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Villans managed to earn a narrow 2-1 win over Brentford recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-4-1-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Douglas Luiz and Leon Bailey will get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.
4-4-1-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will feature in between the sticks for the Villans after shipping in one goal in his last league appearance. Ezri Konsa will resume his defensive partnership with Diego Carlos at the centre of the Aston Villa defence as they hope to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Matty Cash will try to catch the eye as the right-back while Alex Moreno hopes to put in a good display on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to express themselves in the opponent’s half this Friday night.
Pau Torres is a major doubt for this game. However, Calum Chambers will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
John McGinn and Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield for the West Midlands club as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. Jacob Ramsey will look to produce an eye-catching display on the left flank while Leon Bailey tries to put his pace to good use on the right wing.
Moussa Diaby will get the freedom to operate in the number ten position for the Villans. He would have to carry most of the creative burden for the home team in the final third.
Nicolo Zaniolo and Leander Dendoncker will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the charge for Aston Villa on the offensive end of the field. He would be eager to find the back of the net versus the Blades this Friday.
Jhon Duran will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if the Villans are in need of a goal by then.
