Chelsea will welcome Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure all three points in front of their home fans. The Blues suffered a 2-0 loss away at Everton recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved performance versus the Blades this weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this game. Nicolas Jackson will lead the line for the West London club in the final third.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Robert Sanchez will operate in goal for Chelsea if he can recover in time from his knee injury. Axel Disasi will play alongside Thiago Silva at the centre of Pochettino’s defence as they look to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Malo Gusto is a major doubt for his game but should get the nod to start at right-back if he can pass a late fitness test. Levi Colwill will fill in on the other side as the left-back.
Benoit Badiashile will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Reece James is unlikely to recover in time for this game.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will anchor the midfield for Chelsea as they try to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer will function just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Blues are to create enough chances to win this home game.
Mykhailo Mudryk will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if required. However, Samuel Chukwuemeka remains sidelined due to injury.
Attack
Nicolas Jackson will lead the charge for the West London club on the offensive end of the field. He has to find a way to threaten the opposition goal during the game.
Armando Broja will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if the Blues are in need of a goal by then.
