Newcastle United entertained Nottingham Forest at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute thanks to Alexander Isak’s penalty. However, Chris Wood equalised for the visitors in the first half injury time as Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.
Chris Wood scored again for Nottingham in the 53rd minute before going on to complete his hattrick against his former club at the hour mark. The Tyneside club failed to mount a comeback and crashed to a poor 3-1 loss in front of their home fans.
