Garner Gets 8, Gueye With 5.5 | Everton Players Rated In Narrow Defeat Vs Tottenham Hotspur

Everton locked horns with Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Toffees made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the ninth minute when Richarlison scored with a decent finish. Heung-min Son doubled the home team’s advantage in the 18th minute as Sean Dyche’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 down on the scoreline.

Andre Gomes got a goal back for the Merseyside club in the 82nd minute with a brilliant strike. However, the Toffees crashed to a narrow 2-1 defeat away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Everton player fared during the match against Spurs.

GK: Jordan Pickford – 7/10

He made some solid saves at the back but will be disappointed after conceding twice in the early stages of the contest.

RB: Nathan Patterson – 6.5/10

Patterson performed his defensive duties well and made two good runs with the ball.

CB: James Tarkowski – 7/10

He gave a good account of himself when defending inside his half but it was not enough today.

CB: Jarrad Branthwaite – 6.5/10

Branthwaite caught the eye at times but struggled to keep things solid at the back.

Gueye made a slow start to the game and was replaced in the 23rd minute.

CM: Amadou Onana – 6.5/10

He proved himself to be a decent presence in both halves and has got nothing to show for his efforts.

RW: Jack Harrison – 6.5/10

Harrison did his fair share of defending and caught the eye at times in the Tottenham half.

CAM: James Garner – 8/10

He made some inviting chances for his teammates to score and did everything but get his name on the scoresheet.

LW: Dwight McNeil – 6.5/10

McNeil engineered some meaningful openings for his teammates but lacked quality in front of the opponent’s half.

ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6.5/10

He was a handful at times inside the Tottenham penalty area but failed to register a goal.

CM: Andre Gomes – 7/10

Gomes scored a great goal late in the game.

LW: Arnaut Danjuma – 6.5/10

He added some pace to Everton’s attack.
