Aston Villa will take on Bournemouth as they travel to Vitality Stadium on Sunday evening in the hope of acquiring all three points from this away contest. The Villans come into the match on the back of a 2-1 win against Legia Warszawa in the Europa Conference League group stages which will give them the confidence ahead of this encounter.
Unai Emery will opt for a 5-3-2 formation and is poised to make a few changes to the starting XI for this game. Ollie Watkins will return to strike as John Duran makes way, while Lucas Digne replaces Alex Moreno in the left-back position.
5-3-2 Aston Villa Predicted XI Vs Bournemouth
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will operate in between the sticks for the Villans as he looks to keep a clean sheet in this away encounter. Diego Carlos, Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres will form a three-man backline at the centre of Aston Villa’s backline as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
Matty Cash will fill in as the right-wing back while Lucas Digne remains a nailed on starter on the other side as the left-wing back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield alongside Leander Dendoncker on the right and John McGinn on the left. The latter will look to put in another hard-working performance.
Nicolo Zaniolo and Youri Tielemans will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if Emery decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby will lead the line for the Villans in the final third. They would be keen on causing problems for the Bournemouth defenders in front of the goal.
Bertrand Traore will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for a chance to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if Aston Villa are in need of a goal by then.
