Aston Villa will entertain Burnley at Villa Park this Saturday afternoon as they try to secure a victory at home in the Premier League. The Villans suffered a hard-fought 3-2 loss away at Manchester United recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways this weekend.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first XI for this game. Matty Cash, Alex Moreno and Nicolo Zaniolo could all play from the start of this clash versus the Clarets.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in goal for the Midlands outfit after conceding three goals in his last league appearance. Pau Torres will get the nod to function alongside Diego Carlos at the centre of Emery’s backline as they focus on keeping things solid on the defensive end of the field.
Matty Cash will return from suspension to operate as the right-back while Alex Moreno hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will be eager to get forward and join in on the attack whenever they can.
Calum Chambers will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Leander Dendoncker will play as the central midfielders as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park. The energetic trio of Nicolo Zaniolo, John McGinn and Leon Bailey will function just ahead of them as part of Emery’s attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Villans want to secure a convincing win in front of their home fans this weekend.
Moussa Diaby will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will spearhead Aston Villa’s attack on his own up top. The English striker would be eager to threaten the opposition’s goal during the 90 minutes.
Jhon Duran will make up the numbers on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if the West Midlands club are in need of a goal by then.
