In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona are keeping tabs on Genoa youngster Radu Dragusin. It has been stated that the Catalan club are monitoring the progress of the Romanian centre-half ahead of a potential move for him in the future.
Radusin’s Impressive Form In Serie A This Season
Dragusin is enjoying a solid campaign at the Italian club after he put in a series of impressive performances at the heart of their backline. The 21-year-old has registered one goal and one assist in 19 matches for Genoa this season across all fronts.
The Romanian talent has been a rock at the back and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 0.8 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 4.6 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 81.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, Barcelona will have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting the Genoa prospect next year.
Barcelona Are Keeping Tabs On Radusin: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Dragusin is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his side on the defensive third of the field. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back. The Romanian starlet is primarily a central defender but can also fill in as a full-back on either flank if needed.
We can expect Dragusin to bring more bite and steel to Barcelona head coach Xavi’s defensive department. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp.
At 21, Dragusin has the potential to become one of the best players in his position someday. Thus, it makes sense for Xavi to go all out to acquire the services of the Romania international. Dragusin is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, the Catalan club should consider moving in for the Genoa whizkid when the transfer window reopens at the start of next month as he will enhance the quality of their squad for the long run.
