Barcelona Are Eyeing A Move For This Manchester United Outcast: Decent Option For Xavi?

In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho. It has been revealed that the Catalan giants are showing interest in recruiting the English wide player next year.

Sancho’s Growing Frustrations at Old Trafford

Sancho is having a frustrating season at the Mancunian club as he currently finds himself on the fringes of their squad after falling out of favour with his manager Erik ten Hag. The English talent has only made three appearances for the Red Devils this season but has failed to score or assist a goal for them in the Premier League.

All of Sancho’s appearances came off the bench which could be why he has only averaged 0.3 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in league football. However, he has been tidy with his ball distribution based on his pass completion rate of 82.9% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

The 23-year-old is under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2026. However, the player could welcome to a top club like Barcelona in search of greener pastures in the upcoming January transfer window.

Will Sancho Be A Decent Option For Barcelona Boss Xavi?

Sancho is a good dribbler with the ball and can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range. He has also got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the pitch.

We can expect the English winger to bring more pace and goals to Barcelona head coach Xavi’s attack. Plus, he might even help the Catalan club compete across all fronts in the coming years.

At 23, Sancho has got his best years ahead of him and would be a great, long-term option for Barca to consider in the upcoming winter transfer period.
