In a recent report, Sportitalia.it stated that Aston Villa have identified Juventus striker Moise Kean as a target. It has been mentioned that the Villans are hoping to seal a move to recruit the former Everton forward next year.
Kean’s Unimpressive Season In Italian Football
Kean has endured a difficult season at the Turin club as he has struggled to be productive for them in Serie A. The Italian centre-forward has participated in 12 matches for Juventus during this campaign but has failed to find the back of the net for them thus far across various competitions.
The 23-year-old has impressed at times by averaging 1.1 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in Serie A. However, he needs to improve his ball distribution after completing 71.2% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2025. Hence, Aston Villa will have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting the Italian sensation in 2024.
What Will Kean Add To Aston Villa Head Coach Unai Emery’s Side?
Kean excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates in the opponent’s half and can even make some impressive runs with the ball on the offensive end of the field. However, the Italian forward has to find a way to be more productive in front of the opposition goal.
Kean would add more firepower and depth to Aston Villa boss Unai Emery’s attack. He might even help the Villans challenge across all fronts in the coming seasons. However, he can still be quite inconsistent in the final third.
Still, there is no denying that Kean is good enough to serve as an ideal backup to Ollie Watkins at Villa Park. At 23, he still has plenty of time to turn his career around and prove his worth at the highest level.
Kean knows the Premier League well from his time at Everton and won’t take much time to settle into life at the West Midlands club if Emery can devise a way to land him next year.
