Summerville’s Impressive Form At Elland Road This Season
Summerville has enjoyed a good run of form at the West Yorkshire club this season as he has put in a run of influential displays for them in the final third. The English sensation has found the back of the net on 11 occasions and earned six assists in 21 appearances for Leeds during this campaign across various competitions.
The 22-year-old has given a good account of himself out in the wide areas and has done well to average 3.2 shots, 3.1 key passes and 2.7 dribbles per game in the EFL Championship. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 83.7% of his attempted passes in the second tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Elland Road will expire in the summer of 2026. Therefore, the Villans will have to make a sizable offer if they want to recruit the English sensation next year.
What Will Summerville Bring To Leeds United?
Summerville is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. He can strike the ball with power and precision from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the flanks. However, the English talent has still not proven his worth in top-flight football which is something that he will be looking to rectify in the future.
Summerville is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also fill in as a left-winger if told to do so by his manager. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at Aston Villa in the coming years.
Summerville has what it takes to enhance the overall quality of Unai Emery’s match-day squad. Therefore, the Villans should focus on getting him on board in 2024 as he would bring more pace and goals to the West Midlands club‘s frontline.
