West Ham United will lock horns with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this Thursday night as they look to secure a victory in the London derby. The Hammers managed to earn a solid 2-0 win over Manchester United recently which should give them a ton of confidence ahead of this clash in midweek.
David Moyes will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this game. Nayef Aguerd will get a chance to play from the start if he can recover in time for this contest.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Alphonso Areola will get a chance to impress in goal for West Ham after securing a clean sheet in his last outing. Nayef Aguerd will resume his defensive partnership with Kurt Zouma at the heart of Moyes’ defence as they look to maintain a good shape at the back during the 90 minutes.
Vladimir Coufal will try to give a good account of himself as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri looks to put in a solid display on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well if the Hammers want to secure a victory in this London derby.
Ben Johnson will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
James Ward-Prowse and Julian Alvarez will anchor the midfield for the East London club as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Lucas Paqueta, Tomas Soucek and Mohammed Kudus will operate just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack. All three of them need to combine well if they are to create some decent goal-scoring chances on the counter.
Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma will be available for selection on the bench as they wait their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Moyes opts to call upon their services.
Attack
Jarrod Bowen will lead the line for the Hammers in the final third. He would be eager to get in behind the Arsenal backline at every chance he gets during the 90 minutes.
Michail Antonio is unlikely to recover in time for this game.
