Everton will welcome Newcastle United at Goodison Park this Thursday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Toffees managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest recently, so they will be full of confidence going into this league clash this week.
Sean Dyche will set his side up in a 4-4-1-1 formation once again and could make one change to his first team for this game. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to lead the line for the Toffees if he can recover in time for this clash.
4-4-1-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Newcastle United
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in between the sticks for the Toffees after keeping a clean sheet in his last league outing. James Tarkowski will function alongside Jarrad Branthwaite at the centre of Everton’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Ashley Young would fill in as the right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to defend their penalty box well if the Toffees want to restrict the opposition from creating too many problems from the wide areas.
Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye will anchor the midfield alongside James Garner as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. Dwight McNeil will look to put his pace to good use on the left flank while Jack Harrison hopes to give a good account of himself on the right flank.
Abdoulaye Doucoure will once again operate as the free-flowing, attacking midfielder as he looks to cause a few headaches for the Newcastle defenders this Thursday night.
Arnaut Danjuma will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a concern ahead of this game but should get the nod to spearhead Dyche’s attack up top.
