West Ham United will entertain Freiburg at the London Stadium this Thursday night as they look to secure all three points at home in the UEFA Europa League. The Hammers suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
David Moyes will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Said Benrahma and Konstantinos Mavropanos are both expected to play from the start of this contest.
4-3-3 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Freiburg
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski will play in goal for the East London club after conceding five goals in his last outing. Konstantinos Mavropanos will function alongside Nayef Aguerd at the heart of the West Ham backline as they try to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Vladimir Coufal will fill in as the right-back once again while Emerson Palmieri hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and join in on the attack when they can.
Kurt Zouma will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Tomas Soucek will make up West Ham’s midfield as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at their best if the Hammers are to come out on top in this Europa League game.
Pablo Fornals will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if Moyes opts to call upon his services.
Attack
Lucas Paqueta will get a chance to shine on the left wing while Said Benrahma looks to make a difference on the right flank. Mohammed Kudus will lead the line for the East London club in the final third. He has to find a way to threaten the Freiburg goal during the 90 minutes.
Jarrod Bowen will get a rest on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if needed.
