Liverpool will lock horns with Union SG at Lotto Park this Thursday evening as they look to secure a positive result on the road in the UEFA Europa League. The Reds managed to earn an important 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this contest in Brussels.
Jurgen Klopp will opt for the 4-3-3 formation and could be inclined to make a few changes to his first team for this game. Harvey Elliott, Ben Doak and Cody Gakpo will all get a chance to impress from the start of this clash.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Union SG
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher will operate in between the sticks for the Merseyside club as he looks to earn a clean sheet away from home. Jarrell Quansah will function alongside Ibrahima Konate at the centre of Liverpool’s defence as they focus on keeping things solid at the back during the game.
Joe Gomez will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Kostas Tsimikas hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Virgil Van Dijk will be rested on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Klopp could opt for a midfield comprised of Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott. All three of them need to move the ball well so that they can engineer some clear-cut chances for the Reds to win this contest.
Dominik Szoboszlai will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Luis Diaz will try to give a good account of himself on the left flank while Ben Doak looks to put his pace to good use on the right wing. Cody Gakpo will spearhead the Liverpool attack down the middle. The Dutch talent would be eager to find the back of the net in this midweek clash after settling for a spot on Klopp’s bench last weekend.
Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on in the latter stages if required.
