Arsenal will welcome Lens at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners secured a narrow 1-0 win away at Brentford recently, so they would be full of confidence going into this European contest.
Mikel Arteta will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation once again and could make a few changes to his first XI for this game. Ben White, David Raya and Kai Havertz will get a chance to play from the start of this contest.
4-3-3 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Lens
Defence
David Raya will feature in between the sticks for the Gunners as he looks to secure a clean sheet at home. Gabriel will once again operate alongside William Saliba at the centre of Arsenal’s backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Ben White will fill in as the right-back while Oleksandr Zinchenko looks to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to express themselves in the Lens half.
Jakub Kiwior will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard will make up Arsenal’s midfield as they hope to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well if the Gunners are to create enough clear-cut chances to win this contest.
Jorginho will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Gabriel Martinelli will try to impress on the left flank while Bukayo Saka looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank. Gabriel Jesus will once again spearhead Arteta’s attack down the middle. The Brazilian striker failed to find the back of the net versus Brentford, so we can expect him to be keen on making a difference for the Gunners in midweek.
Eddie Nketiah will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages of the contest if the North London outfit are in need of a goal by then.
