In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that West Ham United are ready to move in for Bayern Munich ace Leon Goretzka. It has been stated that the Hammers are prepared to launch an offer to land the German midfielder next year.
Goretzka’s Impressive Form In German Football This Season
Goretzka is having a decent season at the Bavarian club after he put in a string of solid displays for them at the centre of the park. The German talent has participated in 14 matches for Bayern this season, scoring two goals and grabbing two assists in multiple competitions.
The 28-year-old has proven his worth as a reliable performer in the middle of the park by averaging 1.0 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 2.3 shots and 0.6 key passes per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been careful when distributing possession from midfield as he has made 89% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Allianz Arena will run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, West Ham will have to make a good move if they want to convince Bayern to part ways with their prized asset next year.
Is Goretzka A Dream Option For West Ham United?
Goretzka is a good tackler of the ball and can make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and has got the eye to play a killer pass in the final third. The German sensation can even shoot the ball purely from long range. Hence, he would be a dream option for the Hammers to consider in 2024.
Goretzka has got all the skillset to succeed in the Premier League and could help West Ham compete for a major trophy in the coming seasons. Therefore, David Moyes should focus on launching a big move to lure the German midfield ace to the London Stadium this January or next summer.
At 28, Goretzka is playing in his prime and won’t take much time to settle into life at the East London club if Moyes can devise a way to bring him on board soon.
