In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, transfer insider Dean Jones tipped Tottenham Hotspur to land Al-Ittihad winger Jota. Jones said,
“We still have to consider that Tottenham aren’t going to just sign players based on a hunch because that’s not the way they’re going to do things anymore.
“Your stats have to fit, specifically, with the vision of the future. But I think Jota would probably do that anyway, in terms of what Tottenham are going to be looking for from a player in that position.
“I think it is a bit of a no-brainer that Tottenham try to get this deal done because even the terms of it might be quite suitable.”
Jota’s Recent Form In Saudi Arabia
Jota has struggled to be productive with his performances in Saudi Arabia but has caught the eye at times as a key member of Al-Ittihad’s attack. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net once in seven matches for his current employers this season across all fronts.
His current contract at the Saudi club will run out in the summer of 2026. Therefore, it won’t be easy for Spurs to snap Jota up on the cheap in the upcoming January transfer window.
Is Jota A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
Jota is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long-range but needs to find a way to be productive in front of the opponent’s goal.
We can expect Jota to bring more quality to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the North London club in the coming years.
At 24, Jota has got a lot of room for improvement in his game. However, there is no doubt that he is good enough to offer some healthy competition for Brennan Johnson at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With all things considered, Jota would be a decent choice for Spurs to consider in the upcoming winter transfer period.
