Rice And Martinelli Get 7 | Arsenal Players Rated In Poor Loss Vs Newcastle United

Arsenal locked horns with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they looked to earn a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Gunners made a solid start to the game and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Mikel Arteta‘s men conceded the opening goal in the 64th minute when Anthony Gordon scored from close range. The contest ended with the Gunners crashing to a poor 1-0 loss away from home.

GK: David Raya – 6/10

Raya made one good save during the game but couldn’t do much about Gordon’s finish.

RB: Ben White – 6.5/10

He performed his defensive duties well and made one key chance in the final third.

CB: William Saliba – 6/10

Saliba did his fair share of defending but it was not enough today.

CB: Gabriel – 7/10

The Brazilian didn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when required. He won a couple of aerial duels as well.

LB: Takehiro Tomiyasu – 6.5/10

Tomiyasu kept things solid when defending inside his half and made one decent run with the ball.

CM: Kai Havertz – 6.5/10

He worked hard defensively but failed to threaten the opponent’s goal.

CM: Jorginho – 6/10

Jorginho struggled to get a foothold in the game but managed to create one inviting chance in the final third.

CM: Declan Rice – 7/10

The England international was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.

RW: Bukayo Saka – 6/10

Saka was quiet for most of the game and never looked like he would score.

ST: Eddie Nketiah – 6/10

He made one good chance in the final third but failed to register a goal.

Martinelli caused a lot of headaches for his marker but there was no goal for him today.
