In a recent report, Defensa Central stated that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants the Madrid club to re-sign Real Sociedad wide player Takefusa Kubo. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Japanese wing wizard back to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Kubo’s Impressive Run Of Form In La Liga This Season
Kubo is enjoying a decent campaign at the Spanish club after he put in a series of impressive displays for Sociedad out in the wide areas. The 22-year-old has found the back of the net five times and earned three assists in 16 matches for his current employers this season across all fronts.
The Japanese talent has been a consistent performer for his team in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 1.6 shots, 1.9 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 77.2% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Sociedad will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, it would be difficult for Real Madrid to get a deal done for the Japanese attacker next year.
Should Real Madrid Bring Kubo Back To The Spanish Capital?
Kubo can use his quickness to get the better of his marker out in the wide areas. He is a good dribbler with the ball and has got the vision to cut open the opponent’s defence with some killer passes in the final third.
The Japanese winger has done well to add a few goals to his game this season. He is primarily a right-winger but can play as a left-sided wide player or function in the number ten position if needed.
We can expect Kubo to bring more firepower to Real Madrid‘s attack. He might even help Los Blancos challenge for some major silverware over the next decade. The Japanese sensation already knows the Madrid club well from his previous spell with them. Hence, he won’t take much time to adjust to life in the Spanish capital if Real Madrid can manage to get him on board.
At 22, Kubo has got his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Los Blancos to pursue next year. Therefore, the Madrid outfit should go all out to bring him back to the Spanish capital.
