In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Real Madrid could be offered a chance to sign Arsenal midfield ace Kai Havertz. It is understood that Los Blancos could be given an opportunity to sign the German international from the Gunners next year.
Havertz’s Unimpressive Spell At Arsenal So Far
Havertz has struggled to be consistent as an Arsenal player after joining from Chelsea last summer. The German talent has only scored one goal and grabbed one assist in 17 appearances for the Blues this season across multiple competitions.
The 24-year-old has failed to impress in the final third as he is only averaging 1.0 shots and 0.7 key passes per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he has been accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates after making 83.8% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the North London club will run out in the summer of 2028. If Arsenal are willing to cash in on him next year, Real Madrid might be inclined to consider launching a move as he is a technically gifted footballer who could excel in Spanish football.
Should Real Madrid Move In For Havertz?
Havertz loves a tackle and can strike the ball with power from long range. The German international can even set up the odd chance for his teammates when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. However, he has struggled to be consistent with his contributions in the final third.
Havertz is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a forward or as a right-winger if asked to do so. However, he won’t be a quick fix to Real Madrid‘s attacking concerns as he is far from a reliable goal-getter.
At 24, the German footballer still has plenty of room for improvement but Los Blancos would be better off opting for someone more proven rather than moving in for Havertz this winter.
The Madrid giants need a proven goal-scorer if they want to compete for some major honours over the next few years. Havertz won’t be a good option for them, so Real Madrid should steer clear of him and focus on getting a better performer in 2024.
