Barcelona will entertain Alaves at the Nou Camp this Sunday as they look to earn a win at home in La Liga. The Catalan club suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek, so they would be eager to put in an improved showing this weekend.
Xavi will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Both Fermin Lopez and Joao Felix are expected to play from the start of this game.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Alaves
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will feature in between the sticks for Barca after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Jules Kounde will function alongside Ronald Araujo at the centre of Xavi’s defence as they try to keep things tidy at the back during the game.
Joao Cancelo will function as the right-back while Alejandro Balde hopes to give a good account of him on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to express themselves in the Alaves half so that they can offer adequate support to the front players.
Andreas Christensen will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Xavi will probably opt for a midfield comprised of Fermin Lopez, Oriol Romeu and Ilkay Gundogan for this game. All three of them need to find a way to engineer a few clear-cut chances for the Catalan club to win this contest.
Gavi is suspended for this game but Pedri should be available for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Joao Felix will get the nod to start as the left-winger while Raphinha hopes to catch the eye on the right flank. Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Catalan club on the offensive end of the field. The Polish striker will have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for the Catalan giants up top.
Ferran Torres will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on in the latter stages if needed.
