Barcelona will entertain FC Porto at the Nou Camp this Tuesday night as they try to secure all three points at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalan club were held to a 1-1 draw by Rayo Vallecano recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways later this week.
Barca head coach Xavi will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be inclined to name a strong first XI for this game. Ilkay Gundogan, Raphinha and Joao Felix are all expected to play from the start of this contest against the Portuguese outfit.
4-2-3-1 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Porto
Defence
Inaki Pena will operate in between the sticks for the Catalan club after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Jules Kounde will resume his defensive partnership with Ronald Araujo as they try to keep the Porto attackers at bay during the game.
Joao Cancelo will fill in as the right-back while Alejandro Balde hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get a chance to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Inigo Martinez will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions. However, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is unlikely to recover in time for this game due to a back problem.
Midfield
Ilkay Gundogan and Oriol Romeu will try to anchor the midfield with conviction as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Joao Felix, Pedri and Raphinha will play just ahead of them as part of Xavi’s attack. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if Barca are to win this Champions League contest at the Nou Camp.
Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Catalan club on the offensive end of the field. He would have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Xavi’s side up top.
