Newcastle United will entertain Chelsea at St. James’ Park on Saturday as they hope to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Bournemouth before the international break. Hence, the Tyneside club would be desperate to return to winning ways this weekend.
Eddie Howe will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could name a strong first XI for this game. Anthony Gordon will lead the charge for the Magpies on the offensive end of the field.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Nick Pope will function in between the sticks for the Magpies after shipping in a couple of goals in his last outing. Jamaal Lascelles will operate alongside Fabian Schar at the heart of Newcastle’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Kieran Trippier will operate as the right-back while Tino Livramento looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to express themselves in the Chelsea half.
Emil Krafth will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Joe Willock, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff, who is a concern ahead of this game, will make up Newcastle’s midfield. Their main focus would be to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Matt Ritchie will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Joelinton will try to catch the eye on the left flank while Miguel Almiron hopes to make a difference on the right wing if he can recover in time for this game.
As mentioned earlier, Anthony Gordon will lead the line for the Tyneside giants up top. He has to find a way to threaten the Chelsea goal during the game.
Both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are unlikely to recover in time for this game.
