Newcastle United entertained Arsenal at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a decent result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a solid start to the contest and managed to get into the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.

The Tyneside club defended their slender advantage well in the second half and earned an impressive 1-0 win in front of their home fans.

GK: Nick Pope – 6.5/10

The English keeper made one good save during the game and earned a crucial clean sheet at home.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and made one good chance going forward.

LB: Dan Burn – 6.5/10

Burn kept things solid on the defensive end of the field but was replaced at half-time.

CM: Sean Longstaff – 6.5/10

He anchored the midfield well but offered very little in the opponent’s half.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7/10

The Brazilian talent was a positive influence in the final third and managed to engineer some promising chances in the final third.

CM: Joelinton – 7/10

Joelinton did his fair share of defending and was a lively presence in the opposition half. He ended the game with an assist to his name.

He made two encouraging runs with the ball but lacked quality in front of the Arsenal goal.

Wilson made one decent dribble but never looked like he would score.
