In a recent report, Rheinische Post (via Gladbach Live) claimed that Everton are keeping a keen eye on Borussia Monchengladbach youngster Winsley Boteli. It has been stated that the Toffees could face competition in the form of Juventus in the race to land the Swiss talent.
Boteli’s Rapid Rise In Germany
The gifted teenager has come through the youth ranks of Borussia Monchengladbach after joining from Servette in 2022. Boteli has proven his worth at times with his offensive contributions for the German club’s Under-19 side.
The 17-year-old has done well to register 13 goals and secure three assists in 16 appearances for Monchengladbach’s U-19 side thus far across various competitions.
Boteli’s current deal at Borussia Monchengladbach will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Everton should focus on going all out to recruit him on the cheap at the end of this season.
Everton Are Keeping A Keen Eye On Boteli: Is He A Star In The Making?
Boteli can be a decent presence in the final third when he is playing at the top of his game on the field. He has got the vision to create a few clear-cut chances for others around him deep inside the opponent’s half.
The Swiss prospect can even complete some dangerous dribbles with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty box. However, he is still quite inexperienced and would need time before he can taste success at the highest level.
Boteli would undeniably be a great signing for Everton in the long run. He has the potential to become one of the best players in his position someday. Therefore, Sean Dyche should think about going all out to lure him to the Merseyside club at the end of this campaign.
At 17, there is no doubt that Boteli is a star in the making which makes him an excellent, long-term option for the Toffees to consider next year.
