Liverpool will lock horns with Toulouse at Stadium Municipal this Thursday evening as they try to secure all three points on the road in the UEFA Europa League. The Reds were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw away at Luton Town recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways in midweek.
Jurgen Klopp will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a lot of tweaks to his first XI for this game. Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Ben Doak will all play from the start of this game as Klopp looks to offer some of his first-team stars a rest.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Toulouse
Defence
Caoimhín Kelleher will function in goal for the Reds as he looks to secure a clean sheet away from home. Joel Matip will resume his defensive partnership with Jarrell Quansah at the centre of Liverpool’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Joe Gomez will fill in as the right-back while Kostas Tsimikas hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Klopp will give both of them the license to get forward and express themselves in the Toulouse half.
Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott will make up Klopp’s midfield as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Curtis Jones will be available for selection on the bench and might come on in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Luis Diaz will try to give a good account of himself on the left flank after scoring Liverpool’s equaliser versus Luton last weekend. Ben Doak would try to put his pace to good use as the right-sided wide player.
Cody Gakpo will lead the charge for the Merseyside club on the offensive end of the field. The Dutch talent has to find a way to threaten the opponent’s goal in midweek.
Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
