In a recent report, Sport claimed that Barcelona are hoping to land Girona winger Savio who is playing on loan from Troyes. It is understood that the Catalan club are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Brazilian wide player in the future.
Savio’s Impressive Loan Spell At Girona
Savio is enjoying a solid campaign on loan at Girona as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 19-year-old has made 11 appearances for the Spanish outfit this season, finding the back of the net on three occasions and earning four assists in the process across all competitions.
The Brazilian sensation has been a decent performer in the final third based on his average of 1.3 shots, 1.0 key passes and 2.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 81.3% in the Spanish top-flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at his parent club Troyes will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Barcelona will have to launch a convincing offer if they want to land Savio next year.
Barcelona Are Hoping To Land Savio: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Savio is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third. He can strike the ball with venom from long range as well.
The Brazilian youngster has done well to add a few goals and assists to his game this season. He is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player or play in the number ten position if needed.
Hence, Savio would be a great acquisition for Barcelona as he is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp.
At 19, the future looks quite promising for the Brazilian starlet as long as he continues to mature with each year. There is no denying that Savio is a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, Barca boss Xavi would be wise to engineer a move to bring him on board in the winter transfer period or at the end of this campaign.
