In a recent interview (via Gianluca Dimarzio), Aston Villa winger Nicolo Zaniolo revealed that he is happy with his life at Villa Park. Zaniolo said,
“Aston Villa are a strong team. Now we have Tottenham and some quite difficult matches but we are a strong team and we can win against everyone if we do things the way they should be done. Then there are still many games left and the objectives are long now but we are certainly a strong team and we can have our say.
“Like everything, when you make a change you need time. I’m happy because the Premier League is a great league, Aston Villa are a great team, but in any case I still have to adapt well and better. I have a lot of time ahead and we hope to do it well, I want to show my qualities.”
Zaniolo’s Impressive Run Of Form In English Football
Zaniolo has enjoyed a solid loan spell at Villa Park after he put in a string of decent displays for them in the opponent’s half. However, he has struggled to be productive as he has failed to score or assist a goal in 15 appearances for the Villans this season in various competitions.
The 24-year-old has done well to average 1.9 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he lacks quality when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 74.5% in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).
What Does The Future Hold For Aston Villa Winger Nicolo Zaniolo?
Zaniolo is a good dribbler with the ball and can create a few inviting chances for his teammates up top. He can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range but needs to find a way to improve his productivity in front of the opponent’s goal.
Zaniolo’s current loan deal at Aston Villa will expire next summer. Hence, he has to find a way to impress Unai Emery if he wants to earn a permanent move from Galatasaray next summer.
At 24, the future looks quite promising for Zaniolo whether he goes on to sign for the Villans permanently or opts to return to his parent club next summer as he has got his best years ahead of him.
