In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Girona full-back Miguel Gutierrez. It has been stated that the Gunners are among several clubs trying to sign the Spanish defender next year.

Gutierrez’s Impressive Season In La Liga
Gutierrez is having a solid campaign at Girona after he put in a series of impressive displays on the left side of their defence. The 22-year-old has done well to pick up one assist in 13 appearances for the Spanish outfit this season across multiple competitions.
The Spanish talent has given a good account of himself at both ends of the pitch as he is averaging 1.0 tackles, 2.4 clearances, 1.2 shots, 1.1 key passes, 0.9 crosses and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from the left flank based on his pass completion rate of 87.2% in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, Arsenal will have to pay a big fee if they are serious about recruiting the former Real Madrid player this January.
Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Bring Gutierrez On Board?
Gutierrez is a solid tackler of the ball and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. He can strike the ball purely and with venom from long range and is a decent crosser of the ball as well. The Spaniard can create some inviting chances for his teammates from the left flank. Furthermore, he can make a few driving runs with the ball.
Gutierrez would add more quality to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta‘s defence. He would even offer some healthy competition for Oleksandr Zinchenko at the North London club in the coming seasons.
At 22, Gutierrez has the potential to become a future star in his position someday. Hence, the Gunners will do well to go all out to bring him on board in the upcoming winter transfer window. However, there are some question marks over whether Gutierrez will be able to cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if Arsenal manage to sign him.
