Newcastle United will face off against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium this Saturday evening as they hope to earn a win on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in midweek, so they would be desperate to bounce back with a victory versus Wolves.
Eddie Howe will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make one change to his first XI for this game. Callum Wilson will lead the line for the Tyneside club in the final third in the injury absence of Alexander Isak who is currently struggling with a groin problem.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Nick Pope will operate as Newcastle’s primary keeper after he shipped in one goal in his last outing. Fabian Schar will play alongside Jamaal Lascelles at the centre of Howe’s defence as they try to keep things tidy defensively throughout the 90 minutes.
Kieran Trippier will be a nailed-on starter as the right-back while Dan Burn hopes to give a good account of himself as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to make a difference for Newcastle from the flanks.
Matt Targett and Paul Dummett will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will make up Howe’s midfield as they try to get the better of the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to retain possession well if the Magpies are to secure a convincing win this weekend.
Joe Willock will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Miguel Almiron will try to catch the eye on the right flank while Anthony Gordon looks to put his pace to good use on the left wing.
Callum Wilson will lead the charge for the Tyneside giants up top. The English forward would be keen on finding the back of the net against Wolves after starting on the bench in midweek.
Lewis Hall will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
