Aston Villa will clash heads with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium this Sunday as they hope to secure a win on the road in the West Midlands derby. The Villans are enjoying a good run of form in the Premier League at the moment after thrashing Brighton and Hove Albion by a 6-1 scoreline recently.
Unai Emery will set his team up in a 4-4-2 formation and will be sweating on the fitness of Boubacar Kamara and Moussa Diaby as they are both major doubts for this game. However, both of them could play from the start if they can recover in time for this derby.
4-4-2 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will play in between the sticks for the Villans as he looks to keep a clean sheet away from home. Ezri Konsa will operate alongside Pau Torres at the centre of the Aston Villa backline as they focus on keeping the home team frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will get a chance to shine as the right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to put in a solid display on the other side as the left-back. Both of them would be instructed to keep things tidy on the defensive end of the field.
Diego Carlos will provide cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara will anchor the midfield for Emery’s side as they try to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.
Nicolo Zaniolo is expected to get a start on the left flank while John McGinn looks to put in another hard-working performance as the right-sided wide player.
Youri Tielemans and Bertrand Traore will be available for selection on the bench as they await their chance to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the line along with Moussa Diaby up top. However, Diaby is a significant concern ahead of this game and would need to pass a late fitness test.
Jhon Duran will be on standby on the bench just in case the French talent fails to recover in time for this game.
