According to a report from Manchester Evening News, Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho has been in frequent talks with Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic as he faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford. Sancho made a £73 million move from the German club in 2021 but has struggled to meet the high expectations associated with his transfer fee.
Sancho’s Growing Struggles At Manchester United
Despite experiencing a season filled with ups and downs in the previous campaign, Sancho showcased moments of excellence during the pre-season tour. Regrettably, his efforts seem to have gone to waste as the winger is now considering a departure from Manchester United. This decision comes after he was excluded from first-team training due to his refusal to publicly apologize to Erik ten Hag for publicly criticizing his omission from the squad during last month’s match against Arsenal.
The 23-year-old has only made three appearances for the Red Devils so far this season, which came as substitutions in the second half. Consequently, he public rebuttal has made him fall out of favour with Erik ten Hag which has resulted in him being exiled. The growing tensions between the player and the manager have raised questions on whether the former Dortmund forward would ever wear the red jersey again.
Will Sancho Make An Exit In January?
Sancho possesses the kind of pace that can trouble opponents when deployed on the flanks. His knack for creating scoring opportunities for his teammates in the attacking third, coupled with his impressive dribbling skills, makes him a valuable asset.
While he primarily operates as a left-sided winger, this London-born talent can seamlessly switch to the right wing or even take on the role of an attacking midfielder when the situation demands it. At the age of 23, his best years on the pitch are still ahead of him, making it natural for him to seek regular playing time to sharpen his skills and reach his full potential.
Currently, Sancho finds himself at a crossroads with the Man United manager, sparking speculations about his uncertain future. Given the discord with the former Ajax manager, it appears that the most viable option for the English forward is to part ways with Old Trafford.
Consequently, a potential move back to Dortmund might hold appeal, but for this to happen, the Bundesliga club will have to consider either making a permanent transfer offer in the mid-season, which seems unlikely, or proposing a loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer when the summer transfer window opens next year. Either way, with other potential suitors also vying to lure him away, there is a high possibility of Sancho making an exit in the January transfer window.
