Newcastle United welcomed Paris Saint-Germain at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Magpies made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 17th minute via Miguel Almiron’s effort. Dan Burn doubled Newcastle’s lead in the 39th minute as the Tyneside club went into the half-time break with a 2-0 advantage.
Sean Longstaff killed the game off in the 50th minute. However, Lucas Hernandez got a goal back for PSG just six minutes later. Fabian Schar ended up putting the icing on the cake for Newcastle as he scored in injury-time.
The contest finished with Eddie Howe’s men earning a dominant 4-1 win in Tyneside.

Lascelles dealt with the danger when needed and didn’t do much wrong at the back.

He made a lot of important clearances inside his half and was a threat at the other end of the field. Schar got his name on the scoresheet in injury time.

Burn performed his defensive duties well and scored his team’s second goal in the 39th minute.
CM: Sean Longstaff – 8/10
He produced an energetic display in both halves and scored early in the second half to put daylight between the two sides.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7.5/10
The Brazilian talent caused a lot of problems for the opposition and ended the game with an assist to his name.

Tonali earned possession back twice but was replaced in the 64th minute.

He gave Newcastle the all-important lead in the 17th minute. However, Almiron was quiet in the second half.

Isak was a real menace in the PSG half but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
