Barcelona will face off against FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday night as they hope to earn all three points on their travels in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalan club secured a 1-0 win over Sevilla recently which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this clash versus the Portuguese giants.
Xavi will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could make one tweak to his starting XI for this game. Oriol Romeu will get an opportunity to impress from the start of this contest while Raphinha drops to the bench.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face FC Porto
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will function in goal for Barca after securing a well-deserved clean sheet versus Sevilla last weekend. Jules Kounde will try to give a good account of himself alongside Andreas Christensen at the heart of Xavi’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
Joao Cancelo will hope to put in a good display at right-back while Alejandro Balde fills in on the other side as the left-back. Xavi will ask both of them to make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas.
Marcos Alonso will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu and Gavi will function as Barca’s holding midfielders as they try to win the 50-50-battles at the centre of the park and orchestrate a few inviting chances in the final third.
Sergi Roberto will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Joao Felix will get a chance to catch the eye as the left-sided wide player. Lamine Yamal will operate on the other side as the right-winger.
Robert Lewandowski will once again lead the charge for the Catalan club in the opponent’s half. He would be hungry to get his name on the scoresheet and make a difference for Barca in midweek.
Raphinha will have to be content with a place on Xavi’s bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
