In a recent segment of the Daily Briefing, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Real Madrid are set to rival Manchester United for Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Japanese talent next year.
Kubo’s Impressive Run Of Form In La Liga
Kubo is enjoying a productive campaign at the Spanish club as he has produced a handful of promising displays for them in the final third. The Japan international has banged in five goals and picked up three assists in 12 matches for Real Sociedad this season across all competitions.
The 22-year-old has been a reliable performer on the offensive end of the field based on his average of 1.7 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been excellent when interchanging possession with his teammates based on his pass completion rate of 77.1% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).
Kubo is under contract at Real Sociedad until the summer of 2027. Hence, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to land him on the cheap in the near future.
Is Kubo A Good Option For Real Madrid?
Kubo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He is a decent dribbler with the ball and has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half. The Japanese sensation is primarily a right-winger but can also operate on the left flank or play in the number ten position if told to do so by his manager.
We can expect Kubo to bring more goals and creativity to Real Madrid‘s attack. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Madrid club next season.
At 22, the future is quite bright for the Real Sociedad star which makes him a worthy option for Los Blancos to consider this January or at the end of this campaign. He already knows La Liga well by now and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium if Real Madrid manage to get a deal done for him next year.
